Always a Bridesmaid
Yes, I have been in numerous weddings. Starting from 1 1/2 years old until now, I have been:
- a flower girl three times
Aunt Mary and Uncle Bill’s Wedding May 1983
Auntie Nean & Uncle Criss’ Wedding August 1984
Uncle John & Aunt Therese’s Wedding January 1989
- maid of honor for my mom
My mom’s wedding November 1993
- flower attendant
Anne Marie and Lloyd’s Wedding November 1983
- junior bridesmaid for my step-mom (no pic yet)
- bridesmaid twice
- reader twice
I was finally a bridesmaid for a friend, the first time, in March 2005. Being a bridesmaid was actually a bit of the impetus for me to lose weight and join Weight Watchers. By the time I walked down the aisle I looked like this:
Yes, we wore pale green in March in Minnesota! Thanks, Jan! I also did the spray tan so that I wouldn’t look horrible. Actually, I felt pretty good. I was about 150 lbs at this point!
Then, if you followed “My Struggles” you’d know that I then gained back my weight. When I was a bridesmaid next, October 2006, I looked like this:
Yuck! That’s me be serenaded by the glee club, since my birthday was the next day. I weigh 165ish. I have no idea honestly. I just hate the pictures from this wedding. I feel so bad for my friend. I know she loves me no matter what I look like, but I do not feel proud to see these pictures.
Gig #3 was this past January.
Next up . . . MY OWN WEDDING! That should get me motivated, right?
Ahhh, it’s coming up! Don’t worry I’m sure you will be a beautiful maid of honor.
Thanks!! I’m looking forward to it!
he he he- from one veteran bridesmaid to another- good luck! 🙂
Thanks! By the way Chi-town is totally one of my favorite cities. I spent one summer living near Grant Park and another winter up in Roger’s park. I miss the “L” and Giordano’s.
I have been a bridesmaid in 5 weddings!
Goodness! I love weddings, the only drawback is the expense!
