Flashback Friday: The Story of Anne and Matt

April 23, 2010

Here’s an abbreviated version of our story (my original version of this was long and had some things that I’d like to not put on the internet).

We met when we both started graduate school at Virginia Tech in the fall of 2005.  I thought Matt was so cute, and I wanted to stay up in the office to keep talking to him.  Our group of grad students hung out a lot, attending football games and playing shuffleboard at the local bars.

After being friends for over a year (with a spark between us), we went on our first date on my birthday, in October 2006.  We went to Cabo Fish taco, and then back to his apartment for cupcakes and “Napoleon Dynamite”.

Over the next few months we spent a lot of time watching movies and going on dates.  We went to holiday parties and banquets.

A few months after beginning our relationship, we graduated!!  Over Christmas and New Year’s, we went to Knoxville and Cincinnati:

Then I moved to Boston and Matt moved to Knoxville.  Thus began our LDR (long-distance relationship).  We became very familiar with flying!!  We found excuses to meet up all over the country:

After a year, Matt agreed to move to Boston, and finally found a job (after months of searching thanks to the economy) in Fall 2008.  And now, even after seeing how much of a slob I am, we’re getting married!

Hope you enjoyed that.
